APRS Digipeater – Troubleshooting and Next Steps

The Raspberry Pi APRS is now living in the garage, powered only by a small Baofeng battery, as I realized that the radio does not transmit or receive while in its charging cradle. I believe I knew that before but, as always, I choose to test this out.

Speaking of testing, KF0BTJ is testing whether or not transmit and receive works on the larger batter with the built-in charger. If so, that will be a simple solution to what could be a mess of cables using an A/C to D/C transformer to 12v for an auto accessory battery eliminator. I’d like to keep the cabling as neat as possible.

Meanwhile, the range is estimated at ~5 miles. I’d test it out, but tonight is election night and I am at home for the time being.
